Pocket Reduction

During this procedure, the diseased gum tissue and bacteria (plaque or tartar) is removed. Sometimes irregular surfaces of the bone can be smoothed to limit areas where bacteria can hide. This allows the gum tissue to better reattach to healthy bone. Deeper pockets are more difficult to treat.
